124 viewsFrom Robert Hector: This was a station the Erie Railroad's New York & Greenwood Lake branch. Off to the lower-left of the picture was the Orange branch which crossed my street in East Orange and ended near Main St at the Orange-West Orange border. To the upper-left of the photo, was the Greenwood main branch, which went through Montclair, Great Notch, and ended at Wanaque. To the right was the line back to the Erie Terminal Jersey City (demolished in the sixties). Passenger service on the Orange branch ended in 1955 with only freight service into late eighties or early nineties. Part of this line is now used by the current Newark Light Rail System.
