The Newark City Directories of 1867/68, 1868/69 and 1869/70 reveal that Daniel Frielinghaus was partners with Frederick Traudt in a brewery located at the corner of Springfield Ave. and Magnolia Ave. The Directory of 1870/71 no longer lists Daniel Frielinghaus as co-owner of the brewery. The brewery went out of business in September 1881.
