The Stanley Theatre was built in 1927. In the early 1970s, the theatre building was sold to an Italian-American cultural organization who turned it into the Casa Italiana Social Hall. In 1980 it was sold again and is now the Newark Tabernacle. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 28, 1986.
